Are you interested in joining our team? At Newark Summer Swim, you become a vital part of the lives of many young children by teaching them important life skills. How many summer jobs can give you that? You also get to work with a set of your peers and make many new friends. 

Positions available for 2010:

Aide: Main duty is to assist instructors in the water with the teaching of swim lessons. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements: Swimming skills (knowledge of strokes), public relations skills, good attitude.

Volunteer Aide also available: For those under the age of 14 who would still like to become a part of Newark Summer Swim

Instructor: Must supervise a group of aides and lead the instruction of several classes daily. Acts as a liaison between students and teachers.

Requirements: Same as aide plus past teaching experience required. WSI certification preferable.

Lifeguard: Maintaining the safety of the pool during operational hours. Also handling time management of periods during the day.

Requirements: Current lifeguarding, CPR and first aid certifications from the American Red Cross.
