Level 1A and 1B: Introduction to Water

Ratio: 1 aide per 1 child plus a class instructor
We understand that children in level one need extra attention. These
skills are the ones that all the levels skills will build off of. Also, many
level one children still aren't comfortable with the water. It is because
of this that each child gets his/her own swimming aide, so it's as good as
having a private lesson. On top of this, a class instructor assists the
aides and gives the children even more attention.
To better suit the varying skills of our youngest patrons,
we offer both Levels 1A and 1B:
 | Enter and Exit water safely |
 | Submerge mouth, nose and eyes |
 | Exhale underwater (blowing bubbles) |
 | Opening eyes underwater and retrieving a submerged object |
 | Floating
 | Front float (with support) |
 | Recovery from front float to a standing position |
 | Back float (with support) |
 | Recovery from back float to a standing position |

 | Roll over from front to back (with support) |
 | Roll over from back to front (with support) |
 | Explore arm and hand movements (with support) |
